Hi everyone! The time has come for me to acknowledge that my craft addiction has become seriously out of hand or I'm in desperate need of a TV programme to step in and offer me a Craft Room Makeover! ( pause while I dream about how that would look ahhhh). Now I know that this will look like a catastrophic 'mess' to all of you, but believe me when I say that I know where everything is! Well apart from a replacement bulb for my Daylight lamp. I know I put it somewhere!! So, with some shame and a very red face, I post photos of my craft room which has replaced the third out of four bedrooms in the house. However, this doesn't include the 'overspill' into our Master bedroom for the four chests of PaperArtsy stamps! As well as a three drawer trolley of beloved, can't-live-without, rubber stamps mounted on wood! Well many of them are priceless heirlooms! Stampington, Stampers Anonymous, Tin Pan Alley, The Artful Stamper, Stamp in the Hand etc. Well, ( deep breath) here goes.... Negative comments I could do without as I already know those, but commiserations for my predicament and suggestions as to how I can solve my storage needs alongside contact details of any TV producers interested in doing Craft Room Makeovers will be very gratefully received - lol.
Well they do say that acknowledging you have a problem is a first step to solving it! I would appreciate no references to the various current programmes on TV about people with a problem of hoarding. There are no bags of rubbish, dog faeces or old food in this little enclave! Secretly, of course, I love it. It's my escape. And honestly, the rest of the house is immaculate - well, apart from the study! But that's another story...
Thanks for stopping by. I would love to read your comments - I think!!
I love it... it makes me feel quite at home! I have similar piles of piles too... so if you find a solution, please share it!
ReplyDeleteThere's probably enough of us for a whole series of programmes!
DeleteROFL oh Chris when I saw all your journals I had to laugh..well all I can say I though mine was bad!!Have you got a bigger room you can move into?? you need us to come up and sort you out lol!! xxx
ReplyDeleteps..there's nothing wrong with being a craft piggie xxx
Thanks for the offer Lin! Actually, there's another eight new journals in my leather suitcase too. Oh dear. No hope for me!
DeleteWow, u have some stash there good luck with organising it!
ReplyDeleteBut it is sooo organised Clare lol
DeleteWow ... a craft cave if ever I saw one. This is exactly what mine would become if I didn't have to turn it into a spare room for the parents when they are in the country. Unfortunately the only advice I have is leave it as it is if you love it.
ReplyDeleteC xxx
Now that is good advice! But, like you it will need to be sorted soon as the Grandfairies are growing up too quickly and will need this to revert to a bedroom at some point!
DeleteLooks like heaven to me Don't worry Chris. You're not alone. I can just about sidle into my craft room to sit down. It's packed to the ceiling with ESSENTIAL items... Lx
ReplyDeleteThe therapy is working. To know you're not alone is such a comfort ....snigger. Thanks Lauren!
DeleteAm showing this post to my husband so he understands that my "manky tat" isnowhere near as much as it could be! Thank you for your honesty but really it looks like an inviting Aladdin's cave just waiting for us to explore, create and be happy!
ReplyDeleteGabrielle!! You are using my craft warehouse as a warning to your OH that at least you do not live in a house 'like mine'! Shame on you!!! Ha ha! ROFL. I love it. Brilliant xxx
DeleteManky tat!!?? How dare he! He wouldn't say that if he knew how much it all cost! Chris I'm happy to come and take some of it off your hands, I'm just a beginner but I've already comandeered the dining room :)
DeleteWell you'll need a safety helmet if you venture in lol!
DeleteI would love to come and do a TV makeover without the TV of course, for you. Love sorting through craft stuff and organising. I actually have mine to do shortly, decorating and carpeting the whole house so I will have to move everything out, God knows where I am going to put it all xx
ReplyDeleteThat of course is what is stopping me Julie. If I had another room to store it while I tidy this one, I would be fine!! Ha! Well that's my current excuse.
Deleteit's fab Chris and I am sure you spend a lot of happy time in this space, so embrace & enjoy it x
ReplyDeleteYes I do! I love it. My happy place, well until I need something underneath a host of other stuff!!
DeleteChris.... it's no different to most of our rooms! Embrace it and enjoy making art!
ReplyDeleteHa! Well I hope so. Thanks Miriam xxx

ReplyDeleteHehehe oh I had to laugh. What we all like xx
ReplyDeleteSmiles knowingly.
Deletelove it, I only tidy when I loose stuff, and then when I did recently found 3 sets of the same stamp that I just had to have and I have shamefully not used one of them. but I found my scissors, hurrah.
ReplyDeleteHa ha!! That made me laugh. I used to say that if I ever found myself buying something twice it would make me stop altogether. Hmm happy memories!
DeleteChris...Reminds me of mine and DH says 'mine is a good second' to yours.....Pat Crossland aka CCA
ReplyDeleteSuch a comfort - lol xx
DeleteTook me 4 months to sort out my craft house. My craft is now over 3 rooms. One rm for rubber stamps, drawing items etc; another rm for paper and card, digital items and electronic die cutting machines; sewing has taken over smaller bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI love my craft house very much now it is all sorted. Looks like you could do with your own centrally heated conservatory or large garden shed.
Enjoy it all!!! :-)
Wow! Such organisation over 3rooms! Not sure about a shed as I love just being able to pop upstairs to craft. No rushing to the shed in the rain lol. However, it can't be long before that decision will be taken from me unless I stop buying more stash!!
DeleteDrool drool, so much yummy stash. Laughing about what someone's hubby refered to it as, Manky tat ! Lol My hubby calls it craft crap.... Lol. He might comment more nicely if he knew what it cost, although of course most of it bought on sale ! Hahahahaha. Chris I would say if you are happy here and know where things are ... Then that's all that is important xxx
ReplyDeleteAnother friend was lucky enough to have a LOT of stash like you ... She bought ikea floor to ceiling cabinets, and it's awesome. She got everything off the floor. In my craft room my table is in the middle of the room, kinda buts into the window area, so I have more wall room. I have a whole wall of slat wall for paints, mixed media stuff etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments Nikki. My daughter is also urging me to invest in IKEA shelving. It's her favourite store!
DeleteI just sent you some pics on FB
DeleteYou will be fine as long as it doesn't all fall on top of you! Say 3 Hail Marys and you are forgiven my child! Xx
ReplyDeleteWith absolution I'm forgiven. Roll on Stevenage then lol
DeleteI love it and as long as you can find everything you are ok. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Becky. Feel better already - lol
DeleteHello Chris!!!
ReplyDeleteJust seen your desperate message on FB... :) I also love your messy place and as long as you can find everything it could be ok, however if you are like me (my place starts to look like yours unfortunately), you may have a huge problem to find everything!!!! Aaaaargh. Good luck! xxx
Thanks Coco. I like to think I know where everything is....but I'm not so sure. Haha!
DeleteI've just been told not to get any ideas - lol xx
ReplyDeleteOh Crikey! You didn't shoe Martin did you?? Pretty scary. Lol
