This spread was in response to a challenge where we were asked to use a word that sums up where we feel we are at this moment in our lives/creative journeys. The word I chose is: Love. Because I
really love my life at the moment. I am so lucky to have a beautiful family who I love so much and
who love me! I am also loving the opportunities that retirement has given me to pursue my creative journey. I love my life. I am truly blessed.
The following photos are my response to the second 'prompt' we were given. We were simply given the phrase: 'What I want...' This is my response. I am very inspired by the work of Deb Weiers which I've already mentioned. That inspiration continues! Hope you like it. I'm pleased that I'm learning to leave white space! A difficult lesson to learn for me!
This spread started life like this:
I'm having great fun playing around with Winsor and Newton drawing inks, which is what I've used here. I'm also playing with: Aladine pigment Izinks. Gorgeous, rich colours. I first saw them and bought them at Version Scrap in Paris. Hope you like what I've done and would love you to leave a comment to show you passed by! Have a great weekend xxx
I know you know I love the second page but I really love the first one too!! Such amazing colours.. I have to stand up to get to my Izinks and often forget I have them...
ReplyDeleteThanks again Helen for your lovely support. I don't use my Izinks often enough either!
DeleteI can definitely see your TM style oozing out in the second page xxx
ReplyDeleteYup! A mixture of influences really.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, both pieces are fantastic Chris. Wonderful bold designs and colours. Tracy x
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy. That's where I'm going I think. The bolder the contrast the better for me at the moment!

DeleteGreat pages Chris! Both are stunning, loving th bright vibrant colours! I've never heard of Izinks before. Claire x
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire. I'll post a photo of them later. Don't think they're very easy to find over here. I used them in a workshop with Birgit Koopsen at Version Scrap. Gorgeous rich colours. Quite thick too. I bought six while I was there and a few more from Artist a Trading Post. I really want the black now.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous
ReplyDeleteThanks Nikki!
